<p>great talk.&nbsp; just finished professor gurock's fine book on jews in sports which runs parallel to the comments of rabbi rakeffet's shiur.</p> <p>if i might add another comment on what makes baseball so compelling to observant jews relative to other sports, it seems to be the only one of the major team games in which the defense controls the ball from the aggressor team.&nbsp; over history, jews did not control the ball very often.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>rich the furrydoc</p>
