Ten times in Tanach, we are informed that a donkey is the mode of transportation in a biblical drama and in each instance, the intended purpose of the stated trip is not realized as first envisioned. Avraham does not end up sacrificing Yitzchak; Moshe does not end up bringing his family back to Egypt; and Bilam does not end up cursing the Jewish People. What is the significance of this dynamic?
