Although there are a number of reasons why Chazal instituted a set text for tefillah, there are a number of challenges that come with having a set text that is said every day. Therefore, Chazal instituted within the set text opportunities for each person to add in their own personal tefillot during Shemone Esrei. We explore these halachot in this shiur.
