<p>As an almost parenthetical statement, Rabbi Rapp notes that Shmini Atzeret in Israel must be an extremely long davening since he included Kohelet in the calculation.</p> <p class="MsoPlainText">However, in Israel, Kohelet is said on the 1st day yom tov. This is not only practical but makes sense. Assuming the idea of Kohelet was basically for Sukkot, Shmini Atzeret has some Sukkot elements only in chutz la-aratz. But in Israel this is not the case.</p>
