We live in an era in which the consequences of religious zealotry are justifiably feared, yet numerous biblical characters were praised for displaying this very character trait. In this four-part series, we will attempt to gain a nuanced picture of a different biblical protagonist each week, with a view toward understanding their inner conflicts and motivation, the consequences of their actions and ultimately, ourselves and the times in which we live.
