Description
This is the first class in a series entitled "Kinnot: Poems for Jerusalem" available for FREE at http://Naaleh.com in streaming video plus mp3 & ipod video download. In this Torah shiur introducing the Kinnot of Tisha B'av, Rabbi Avishai David presents an overview of the dual nature of Tisha B'av as a day of mourning and a public fast day. Rabbi David then reviews Megillat Eicha, and shows how it parallels many of the themes of the Kinnot. The class also presents the loss of the Beit Hamikdash as well as the overwhelming human tragedy of the Churban as the primary themes of both Megillat Eicha and the Kinnot.
