<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">Siddurim which follow the Eidot Hamizrach, Yemenite (both baladi and shami), Persian and Italian rites, give three possible berachos which can be recited when smelling the besamim at havdalah, but the first one which they all give is “borei atzei vesamim”. An extant manuscript from the Jewish community of Kaifeng in China gives only “borei atzei vesamim”. However since this community was isolated from all other Jewish communities in the world for several hundred years and their scribes recopied by hand, probably numerous times, their siddurim, it is possible that the other berachos over besamim at havdalah<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>were, over the course of time, accidentally omitted. </span></span></span></p>
