Description

After the Hakdamah, the Eglai Tal has a Pesichah. The Eglai Tal says that we are not really likely to come close to an Issur d'Orisah of Shabbos because of all the Gedarim put into place by Chazal. Ramban asks, what would Shabbos look like if there were not all of the Dini d'Rabbanon? What's the right way to be Shabbosdik? Are the 39 Melachos based on Binyan haMikdash or Avodas haMikdash? Rabbi Tendler ends today with the seemingly strange statement from Rav Hai Gaon that the Melachos come from the Avodas haMikdash, which seemingly goes against the Pshat of many Rishonim.
