Description

Lecture given during dinner. Rabbi Schachter discusses the haftorah to parshas Balak. Michah the prophet tells bnei yisrael to walk humbly with your God. Modesty does not simply apply to a way of dress, but rather to a way of acting privately. We have tzelem Elokim within us, so we need to walk in the way of Hashem. Hashem rarely appears in public, such as when He performs miracles, so too, we should rarely seek public life, except when necessary, such as having to being the chazan in shule, or being the magid shiur.
