Description

This will be the first shiur on the Sugya of Makif and Nikaf. Reuvain builds a fence to surround Shimon's field and since Shimon benefits from the fence, Reuvain demands that Shimon pay half the expenses. We will see that the Ramban understands that this Sugya stands on the shoulders of a Sugya in Bava Matziah concerning one who plants trees - on his own initiative - in the field of his friend. Can the "noteiah" bill the owner of the field for monies spent on the trees as well as his labor? Or does the owner have a right to claim, "I never hired you nor asked you to do this for me!"
