Description

In the second chapter of Ish Halacha, the Rav describes the two types, the Man of cognition and science and the Man of Religion, and compares their respective perceptions of reality. While both are seeking to reveal the law and order of reality, the man of science is thrilled when he succeeds in defining the laws of nature, and that is where his investigation terminates. The man of religion only begins his questioning as the laws of nature unfold. The more he appreciates the natural order of the universe, the greater is his unquenchable thirst to discover and comprehend the mystery and the secrets that lie behind nature. The discovery of the causality and lawfulness in nature, intensifies the mystery of the world.
