Description

The goal for this shiur is to introduce the fundamental sugya of "Gud/agud" in which one partner presses to dissolve the partnership and the other is not interested. The goal of the shiur is to analyze the controversy between Rav Yehuda & Rav Nachman, in the light of two different approaches in the Rishonim, the Rashbah and the Rosh. Is this principle a Torah law or a Rabbinic institution? How does "god/agud" operate, is it dividing the partnership or a new transaction? The last part of the shiur, in honor of Chanuka, will address a number of the famous questions about the holiday, e.g. why 8 days? Why a jug of oil with the seal of the High Priest? Why the emphasis on Hiddur Mitzva?
