Can there be a Melamed who has the status of Minuy (appointment) of the community but lacks the Minuy of the fathers of the children meant to be taught? Can the Minuy Kahal exist independent of the Minuy HaAvot? Would the Halacha permit the Fathers to bring their children to study under the tutelage of a Melamed other than the Melamed appointed by the city if this second one is superior to the first? How would the Kahal decide which of two candidate Melamdim to appoint? Should they consider the volume of Torah acquired by the group of children in the city? Or should their concern be focused on each child's absorption of truth without mistakes? These and other questions will be addressed in this shiur focused on the psak of the Rambam.
