The Torah sets the condition for the bringing of the Egla Arufa as Karov, meaning the closest city to the corpse, despite the larger population of the world, i.e., Ruba DeAlma. Since Rov defeats Karov, the closest city could only be the one to bring the Egla if the killer could not come into the city because it is "Yosheves bein HaHarim", a city surrounded by mountains. I this shiur we will analyze the questions raised by Rav Zayra against Rebby Chanina from the parsha of Egla Arufa. We will analyze the status of Yerushalayim regarding Egla Arufa based upon a careful reading of the Tos' as well as the answer of the Rashba & the insights of Reb Elchonon and the Chemdas Shlomo.
