Description

In this shiur we will study two Sugyot which address the fundamental issue which comes up in all of Shas, namely, defining the action of man. The key to unlock this mysterious concept lies in the following question: are natural forces, such as the energy of wind, integrated into the action of man when the latter begins a process that is completed by a natural force? This issue is particularly significant in the laws of damages & the violation of Melacha on Shabat. In talmudic language this is called: Coach Acher MeUrav Bo. The human action presents the wind with an object to carry from one location to another. We will look at both Bava Batra 26a & Bava Kama 60a, Gemarah, Rashi, & Tos'.
