Description

Rava's third Halachik principle derived from Rebby Chiya is that one Rov is sufficient. Why would there be a need for a second Rov? In the Sugya of Rav & Shmuel regarding the barrel of wine found outside a Jewish city, what is the Yesod HaMachloket? Is Rov a Birur based on probability? Or is it a purely Halachik construct, a Din, which operates according to its own rules & regulations? We will explain the Machloket here in the light of the controversy between R' Akiva Eiger & the Rashash regarding the case of the triangular piece of meat, and the case of the Kohen [#51] in the city (who makes the Rov) who wants to marry this girl and knows for sure that he was not the rapist. Do we remove him from the calculation & the Rov is gone?
