Description

We will define the fourth Tefach of a lulav, is that part of the shiur lulav and without the fourth Tefach we have no lulav (essential)? Is the drinking of the Kiddush wine and the wine of other Kosot shel Beracha essential or is drinking the wine an added element (add-on)? How do we define an "Os" which exempts from the mitzvah of Tefillin, is it the observance of Issur Melacha or the inherent nature of the Kedushat HaYom? This will allow us to analyze the controversy regarding Tefillin on Chol HaMoed. We will also define the element of Pirsum with regard to Ner Chanuka. Is Pirsum essential to the Ner Chanuka or simply an enhancement of the mitzvah?
