We move on, beyond zmanim, to the area of Tefillah, and analyze certain elements related to Tefilla, i.e. to the Shmoneh Esreh. What is the relationship between these elements and Tefilla? Is it essential & defines the essence of Tefilla, or is it coincidental and external to tefilla? For example, the azkorot that are added to our Tefilla on special days, are they essentials or simply add-ons that remain external to Tefilla? Or the requirement of Kavana (intention) in Tefilla, is Kavana essential or external? In this shiur, we will study the insights of Reb Chaim Brisker into these and other questions.
