In this shiur we will re-visit the chakira of exclusion vs. absence or obstruction. We will look at the case of a Chatzi Eved and the application of Aseh Doche Lo Taaseh regarding the Aseh of Pirya VeRivya. Is the eved excluded for this Aseh like an Isha (ptur gavra), or the eved's problem the "cheftza" which blocks the eved from having children that are "Meyuchasim Acharav". In the case of a Chatzi eved we can obviate this obstruction. What is the status of the eved as far as the mitzva of Re'iah? Is a woman excluded as a Gavra, or simply because of the absence of "zachrus"? In this shiur we will demonstrate how the Abarbanel utilizes the chakira of essential/accidental to explain the Divine decision to destroy the Dor HaMabul.
