Description

The Tos' Rid analyzes Rashi's interpretation of Rebby Akiva, the eidim zomemim do not pay based on their own confession. According to Rashi the eidim were subject to hazama in the first Beit Din when the second set of eidim came in and testified "you were with us elsewhere", and before the zomemim were investigated and condemned, they fled the court and subsequently showed up in another Beit Din where they confessed their crime of perjury.
