Description

How do the eidim know that the husband has not paid the Ketuba? We will offer three possible answers and compare them? The second question we will analyze is: didn't the husband gain financially from the testimony by alleviating him from his obligation to support his wife? In the latter part of the shiur we will analyze the complex issue of: how much is the Ketuba worth? Should we evaluate the value that the husband has in this Ketuba, considering the risk factor? Or the worth of the ketuba itself, i.e. should the woman agree to sell her ketuba on the market, what will she receive? That sum must be subtracted from the face value of the Ketuba, as we shall explain.
