Description

We will analyze the opinion of Rebby Shimon regarding Muktza. We know that R' Shimon requires Hachana, & in the absence of Hachana there exists an Issur Muktza. Rebby Shimon assumes Hachana even with regard to something that is designated for NOn-Shabbos use, i.e. dates that were designated for the market rather than personal usage. If the object was absolutely unfit for use, for example Grogros that were placed on the roof to dry and are too sour to eat, Hachana is impossible and the fruit is Muktza. We also know that the oil of a candle that was lit before Shabbos is Muktza even for R' Shimon. In this shiur we will discuss the case of wheat that was planted before Shabbos but is still edible. R' Yochanan compares this to the candle. Why?
