We will introduce the following system of classification re: a disqualified lulav: a) a Psul Cheftza, i.e. the object does not qualify as a cheftza shel lulav; b) a Psul Kiyum, i.e. some condition extraneous to the object has not been fulfilled. In the case of Gazul, which Rashi identifies as a Chisoron Lachem, clearly the object is not deficient, we have a perfect lulav but the extraneous condition required for obtaining the Kiyum HaMitzva, i.e. ownership, is lacking. In the case of Yavesh, which Tos' identifies as a Chisaron 'Hadar", we could assume that there is a deficiency in the Cheftza itself, i.e. the absence of a Shem Lulav. We will investigate the difference as it pertains to the Mitzva DeRabanan of lulav during the last six days.
