Description
This shiur for Yoma 76b will analyze the controversy between Tos' and the Rambam regarding the Issur Sicha (anointing) on Yom Kippur & Tisha BeAv. While all agree that the Issur sicha on Tisha Be'Av is limited; it does not extend as far as sicha for medical of cleanliness purposes, according to the Rambam, the issur Sicha on Y"K includes even a Sicha She'eina shel ta'anug. The Rav za"l (Harerei Kedem) defines the latter category as a Ma'aseh Sicha, prohibited (LaRambam) just as a Ma'aseh Shetiya (drinking) is prohibited on Y"K. Taanit, however, engenders an Issur HaNaah, and in sicha this translates to mean a sicha shel ta'anug. Tos' disagree. Acc to Rambam, we can offer a new answer to the q' why do we need the derivation from Tehilim.
