Description
In this shiur, we will analyze the nature of the Issur Achilah on Y"K, how and why is it unique within the constellation of "universal Achilah". The minimal shiur of prohibited Achilah on Y"K is KeKoseves rather than the classical shiur of Kezayis. This reflects the Issur Achilah of Yom Kippur as the antithesis of Inui. Nowhere does the Torah prohibit Achilah on Y"K; the Torah requires that we experience Inui. We will study the issue of one who begins his Achilah before Y"K but reaches Yisuvei Daatei when he completes his Achilah on Yom Kippur. Are the shiurim of eating & drinking on Y"K subjective? What is the status of an unusual Achilah on Y"K that leads to Yishuv HaDa'as? What is the relationship between eating & drinking on Y"K?
