Description

The mishna establishes that we must feed the pregnant woman who smelled meat on Yom Kippur & has a tremendous desire to eat. Will we allow the violation of Y"K for the sake of saving the life of the fetus even if the woman herself is out of danger? Why do we feed the mother in stages? Can we avoid the danger to the mother without violating Y"K? What is the source for the rule that we violate Y"K for the sake of saving a life? Is this derived from a pasuk or from Svara? In this shiur we will analyze two categories of 'ones' (duration); one is external, the other is internal. How did Chazal know that the love of Hshem 'bechol nafshecha' refers to Avoda Zara? When do we apply 'vechai bahem', & when 'bechol nafshecha'? What is the law of Rodef?
