Description

The source for the obligation to honor the community & the principle of Tircha DeTzibura, is the sugya in Yoma regarding the public reading of the Kohen Gadol on Yom Kuppur. In this shiur we will present some of the ramifications of this principle with regard to Kriyat HaTorah, the repetition of the Shaliah Tzibbur & whom should he wait for? Is tircha detzibura a Din DeOraisa derived from the mitzva to respect the individual? Can this obligation to honor the community override a Torah law,or at least a Derabanan? Would a Darshan be allowed to read verses in the Written Torah by heart in order to spare the Tzibbur from waiting to find a Torah? Would this principle obligate one to finish his Amidah earlier so that the Shatz can repeat Sh"e?
