Description
P. 55. Thinking about one's accomplishments in mitzvos (commandment) observance can be an impediment to getting closer to Hashem. Focusing on Hashem's will rather than on the details of my oberservace. Ruchnius (spirituality) is a fact, not merely a concept. The pnimius (deeper meaning) of davening (praying) is not about understanding the words of the siddur [although that's very imporant] - it's about knowing the reality of Hashem and connecting to that reality. Where the person's thoughts are, that's where he is. The complete reality of the connection between our mitzvos and the upper world. Seeing the metzius ruchanis (spiritual reality) of who a Jew really is - a descendent of Avraham Avinu who has a piece of Elokus (G-dliness) within him. A beautiful story of a maa'ariv (evening prayer) in Yerushalayim.
