Remarkable episode of Yehudah and Tamar is the relationship of Hashem with the Jewish people. Tamar received three things from Yehudah for security. 1) Signet ring- we are engraved on Hashem’s heart (Hashem does not forget us) symbolized by the oil of Chanukah. 2) Tzizis- sweet gift from Hashem to feel a connection symbolized by the wicks of Chanukah. 3) Stick- Jewish people need promise that there will be tzaddikim who will bring mercy from Hashem symbolized by the menorah of Chanukah.
