Rebbe Elimelech’s life’s goal was to create a simple humble Jew with extraordinary middos (qualities). Rebbe Elimelech strongly opposed fasting as a way of avodah (serving Hashem). A Jew should always feel himself as a “half-shekel.” Copper washing basin- the highest level of avodah is made from the women’s mirrors.
