Impossible for a Rebbe to be without chassidim and impossible for chassidim to be without a Rebbe. Rebbe Elimelech’s 4 main talmidim- Apter Rav, Chozeh of Lublin, Kozhnitzer Maggid, Riminover. Chozeh of Lublin met the Rebbe Elimelech when he was a boy of ten. Kozhnitzer said that he knew more kabbalah but Rebbe Elimelech had a higher level of deveikus. Riminover met Rebbe Elimelech in a short coat. How the Apter Rav met the Sassover Rebbe and the Kedushas Levi. When Rebbe Elimelech was niftar he gave his eyes to the Chozeh of Lublin, his heart to the Kozhnitzer Maggid, his mind to the Riminover and his mouth to the Apter Rav.
