Description
The garments of Adam and Chava exist to hide the diminished state of man after the sin. Esav wants the garments, but Yaakov is instructed to wear them. Esav is symbolically called "the pig" who presents one external sign of a kosher animal. Esav likes to impersonate holiness. In this world truth can be hidden. Esau's heart is blemished, but knows how to conceal. Esav is called "the man of the field". Yitzhak's term for the Beis Hamikdosh (Holy Temple) is "field". Two kinds of "field" exist- one which is blessed by Hashem, and one of the idolater. We can choose to transform a clump of earth into something which brings life as Yitzchak did. After six days of being in the "field" we can transform the Shabbos evening meal into the Feast of the Field of Holy Apples which is sumptuous.
