Page 66, perek 11, se'if 4.
Until the giving of the Torah, there was a great separation between Above and Below. On Shavuos, Moshe went up, and Hashem descended to begin the process of removing the barrier. We must be ready to receive the ta'anugim elyonim (supernal delights). Ruchnius (spirituality) is hovering ever so slightly above us and waits for us to draw it completely into our lives - but how do we do this? We must feel that we can't live without ruchnius, must make ourselves humble, like the desert in which Torah was given. The desert had plenty of available space, both physically and spiritually. The point of learning Torah is that it gives us life. A Ba'al T'shuvah (person who returns to observance) is excited when he finds out that Hashem also "thinks" about those matters that have occupied his mind his entire life. It's not enough to merely be educated by Torah, similar to any other intellectual subject - we must be transformed by Torah.
