When a person rises up to a higher perception, the old averas (sins) immediately try to prevent new light from entering. Chilling effect of old averas are engraved in the depths of our hearts. Teshuvah brings us back to a life filled with joy in a twinkle of an eye. Analysis of tefillah before putting on tefillin (phylacteries). Tefillin sanctifies the slumbering strength of chomer (physicality) of this world.
