Hashem gave us Torah and mitzvos in a way that we shouldn’t feel weighed down by them. We don’t realize just how easy it is to do teshuvah (repentance). Even a thought is a huge step! The gift of being forgiven for all of your sins is beyond our understanding. The yetzer hara (evil inclination) keeps us away from hard work. If we realize what a great deal we were getting instead of worrying about food on Yom Kippur, we’d have a totally different outlook.
