Basis and foundation of teshuvah is deep inner assessment the root of which is deeper than the very assessment itself. How to get out of the yenta (gossipy) business where we constantly think about what others do, did or will do. Surfing on Internet blogs, Facebook, Only Simchas runs counter to the basic values of a Jew which are based on tzinius (inner privacy). Discussion of yeshiva boys tormenting their black teacher. We are producing racists who degrade other human beings. As a community we need to make a heart wrenching inner chesbon (moral accounting) of who we are. The only way we can reach perfection is by being honest which hurts.
