Even though we are doing great things, praying, learning and chessed (charitable acts), without contemplation we simply cannot reveal the "ani" (inner self). R' Moshe Montefiore's evening activity. A chitzonius (externally focused) person can turn even the most pnimius (deep) thing into something superficial. To think as a community, a people, a nation - protecting our nation and country without regard for world opinioin. Each person must think about, and develop his own, personal perspective.
