Description
P. 222. There has to be hishtadlus (practical effort) along with emunah (faith) in fixing problems in a marriage. When we have weak emunah in marriage, there are techniques for working on problems. One is to focus on the spouse's good qualities. Another is to see the world for what it is - an imperfect place where there are yissurim (sufferings). Every single second of yissurim purifies. These days, society communicates that life is meaningless if you're not happily married. Investing your life in helping others will bring you to simcha (joy). The neshama (soul) is excited to express emunah (faith) with its zivug (soul mate). The guf (body) wants a romantic physical marriage, like in the movies, with its zivug.
