p. 46. People who know the truth, but do not live by it. Finding a method of living with heart-mind integration. The actually secret of avodas Hashem (divine service) is joining the seichel (intellect) and the lev (heart). The mind or heart alone will not get us anywhere. The mind is male and the heart is female. There must be shalom bayis (peace in the home) between the heart and mind. We could know huge amounts of Torah, but if it is not in heart, what is the point? The sadness of excuses: "Davening is not for me. My thing is Torah learning." Da'as (knowing) means to be attached in the most intimate way. 'Pay attention' in Hebrew is 'Sim lev', 'Place your heart'. Don't just think about G-d, talk about G-d!
