P. 103. Differentiating between straightening and fixing. A "crooked" flow of love vs. the "repair" of love. An example of tikkun (fixing): revealing love for the correct things as opposed to the wrong things. A detailed example of some kind of problem in the midah (trait) of rachamim (compassion). A moral equivalency between animal and human life. Brilliant people writing crooked svaros (logic), brilliantly presented, and even with haskamos (approbations) from great Rabbanim. Learning Torah and svaros within the proper context and guidelines. All of Torah is very deep chochmah (wisdom) and requires tremendous iyun (concentration and effort). Musar (ethics), studying about improving ourselves requires the same concentration and dilligence as a page of Gemarah (Talmud). The same way a non-religious person might look down upon a Gemarah, somebody who learns a lot of Gemarah might look down on the sefer Mesilas Yesharim. The first step: acquiring a real and honest understanding.
