Looking for a straight path to the root: yiras Shamayim (fear of Heaven). We cannot take a shortcut and ignore Gmarah (Talmud), Rashi, and Halchah (Jewish Law). The mind and the heart must be balanced in avodas (service of) Hashem. Emotional investment in, and deep iyun (contemplation) of what we learn. Thinking about my task in life. A mature way of thinking, together with a strong, healthy heart.
