Page 133. I cannot feel awe of Hashem unless I feel His presence. Love of Hashem shouild be firmly set in our heart so that we want to give nachas ruach (pleasure) to Hashem. We are born with the emotion of ahava (love) which is only for ourself. We love our mother because she takes care of us. How do we expand the borders of our "ani" (I)? The avodah (spiritual refinement) of ahava is to understand that "I" and the "other" are "one." It is impossible for a Jew to truly love a gentile. Story of neo-Nazi in Poland who at age 45 discovered he was Jewish. We can never find ahava in this world.
