Page 157. There are really more than four sedarim (orders) of how a person can grow in avodas (serving) Hashem. The Ramchal revealed and elucidated this path in avodas Hashem for every single Jew, from the Braisa of Rabbi Pinchas Ben Yair. The Torah does not automatically bring us to zehirus (alacrity), but it brings us to a point where we can choose if we want to acquire the middah (quality) of zehirus. The ladder of the Torah can take you up or take you down. The Torah is like water - it will cause whatever you have planted inside of you to grow. Torah is not a rung on the ladder, it is the ladder itself.
