Page 166. The force of gravity (the body) that holds the neshamah (soul) in this world. Every person has different levels of "gravitational" pull that he might not be able to resist. The ko'ach (power) of aliyah (rising up), which goes beyond the strength needed daily to fight ones yetzer harah (evil inclination). Why is it so hard to resist? Because it's an intellectual decision - "he makes up his made" - this is only using one's limited human powers. How do we break out of the powers of the guf (body)? An example of a compulsive gambler. The power of aliyah (rising beyond the body). Simchas Torah is a day of almost no learning - we engage our joy, dancing energy and powers that come from a Jew's emunah (faith) stemming from his neshamah (soul).
