p. 235. If you take too much of this world, it will distance you from Hashem and damage you, which ends up damaging all of existence. Taivos (physical desires) are those things that draw us away from Hashem. Because we are in the body, there will always be lo lishma (not for the sake of Hashem). If there is something wrong with Adam, then the adama (earth) will be affected. A Jew brings a great revelation of Hashem through utilizing things do to mitzvos. Everything that exists is longing to become part of Adam.
