Description

NOTE: This shiur was recorded over a speaker-phone and contains background noise. The p. 251. The child's pure Jewish soul, before it has become defiled in this world. The body, in this world, pulls much harder than the soul. When the neshamah (soul) in a certain area of a person's life has made a complete conquest, then he is already living that part of his life in the world to come. What is more natural - our Judaim, or the body's needs? I'll go to minchah (afternoon prayer), but I'll pray as quickly as possible, so I can get back to my "natural" life! Working on acquiring a taste of the world to come. What does "uvachartah ba'chaim" (and you shall choose life) mean? Although we are afraid of nisyonos (tests), there would be no "choice" without them, no opportunity to choose life. Sin, by its nature is something outside the soul.
