Description

p. 253. What draws us naturally in this world, and what draws us in the next world? How is this world a means to get to the next world? Living a soul-life in olam habah (next world) while existing in this world. What is the correct way to determine who we are in this world? What do we desire, things of this world, or things of the neshamah (soul), the next world? Going to the place of one's desire, even in the next world. We don't need "Batman" on the kippah to get our boys excited about mitzvos. In this world there is no "status quo" - we're either moving up or down. Giving ourselves over to Hashem through "kum va'aseh" (get up and do [follow the mitzvos]) and making ourselves humble in that process. A beard and peyos (side-locks) and publicly "fressing" (eating) like an animal. When we recite the list of "ashamnu, bagadnu..." (Yom Kipur liturgy), what are we actually thinking about, and how does that make us feel?
