Description

P. 294. A bar-daas (person with understanding) knows his purpose and the purpose of all that he has in his life are. What feature of our being is the one we put to most use during the day? The more we utilize the powers of the mind for Torah, the stronger and central to our life will it become (both Torah and the mind). Our attention span has been reduced to a 3-4 minute window of time, attuned to a short video-clip - we must develop a mind that thinks in accordance with the way Hashem thinks. Some Jews are more focused on thought, others on speech and yet others on actions. The importance of contemplating the outcomes of our actions and words. What is the source of everything we think, say and do? To reach its greatest potential, learning must be able to change the person [obviously for the better]. Every parent and teacher must be a bar-daas.
