Description

There is a connection between the following two statements in Shulchan Aruch (Code Of Jewish Law): 'Someone with a good heart is always drinking' and 'I always place Hashem before me'. Eulogy and fasting are forbidden on Purim Katan because they are days of mishteh (drinking) and simchah (joy) of the heart. The mitzvas of Purim must be fulfilled in the heart on Purim Katan.
