Description

Dovid HaMelech, referred to in the Zohar as the 'court jester', wants a part in Mordechai's saving of the Jewish people. The three Regalim (Festivals) are connected to the 3 Avos, while Purim is connected to Dovid HaMelech. The ikar (main) mitzvah to awaken the kochos (powers) of Purim is to drink wine, while on Yom Tov, it is to eat meat. The revealed Torah is the constant food nourishment of a Jew, while the secrets of Torah are likened to wine, which needs to be enjoyed only sometimes. The essence of Dovid HaMelech was feeling without the need to intellectual explanation. The defeat of Haman in the defeat of intellectual unclarity and uncertainty. Purim comes through the female side. A Jew who is drunk loves every Jew.
